Scope

This standard is applicable to the seismic evaluation of existing buildings in areas with seismic fortification intensities of 6 to 9 degrees, but it is not applicable to the seismic design and construction quality assessment of new buildings. Seismic fortification intensity is generally determined by the basic seismic intensity of the China Seismic Parameter Zoning Map or the seismic fortification intensity specified in the current national standard GB 50011, "Code for Seismic Design of Buildings". For ancient buildings and buildings with special requirements in specific industries, the evaluation should be conducted in accordance with specific regulations. Note: In the following text of this standard, "seismic fortification intensities of 6, 7, 8, and 9 degrees" are simply referred to as "6, 7, 8, and 9 degrees".
