Scope

This document provides the classification and usage instructions for products used by companion animals (pets) kept at home (hereinafter referred to as "pet products"), stipulates the safety technical requirements, inspection rules, and labeling for pet products, and describes the corresponding test methods. This document applies to the manufacture, sale, and safety evaluation of pet products. It does not apply to various types of pet products used by children. For pet products that are obviously designed or intended for use by children, additional requirements may be necessary. The following products are not applicable to this document: -- Food; -- Medicines; -- Health products; -- Medical supplies and devices; -- Supplies for laboratory animals; -- Supplies for wild animals; -- Supplies for livestock and aquaculture animals; -- Supplies for special animals (such as police dogs, military dogs, military pigeons, and military reconnaissance fish); -- Supplies used in aquariums, underwater worlds, zoos, circuses, and other venues for training, performing, and displaying animals; -- Devices and supplies used in supermarkets, farmers' markets, restaurants, hotels, and other public places for displaying and selling animals; -- Various supplies for fishing and harvesting aquatic economic animals, such as trawls, gillnets, harpoons, fishing gear, etc.; -- Hunting equipment such as explosives, detonators, traps, shotguns, knives, slingshots, bows and arrows, and hunting nets; -- Reagents (such as water quality conditioners, disinfectants, trace element additives, detection reagents, and water quality cleaners used in aquatic, amphibian, and reptile pet keeping); -- Special protective equipment for anti-poisoning, radiation protection, and high-temperature resistance; -- Testing, calibration, and debugging equipment for pet products; -- Specially designed products.
