GB/T 39981-2021 Building construction machinery and equipment—Portable,hand-held,internal combustion engine driven cut-off machines—Safety requirements
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies the safety requirements and test verification for the design and manufacture of portable, handheld, internal combustion engine-powered cutting machines (hereinafter referred to as cutting machines), which are intended to be used by a single person when cutting building materials such as asphalt, concrete, stone, and metal.
This standard applies only to cutting machines that use fixed abrasives and/or superhard abrasives (diamond) for rotary cutting wheels, with a maximum outer diameter of 430 mm. The supporting device for the cutting wheel is mounted at its center and driven by a spindle, and the top of the cutting wheel rotates away from the operator (see Figure 1).
This standard addresses all significant hazards, dangerous situations, or dangerous events that are relevant to these machines under their intended use or under misuse conditions that can be reasonably foreseen by the manufacturer (see Table A.1 in Appendix A).
This standard specifies methods to eliminate or reduce hazards during the use of cutting machines, as well as the type of information on safe working practices that should be provided with the cutting machines.
This standard does not address the specifications of cutting wheels. For examples of cutting wheel specifications, see GB/T 4127.7, GB/T 23537, and ISO 13942.
This standard does not apply to machines manufactured before the date of its publication.
