Scope

This document describes the following aspects:
——Overview of modeling methods;
——Overview of library content;
——Abstract description of library input acceptable to registration authorities (this input is used to expand/modify the data dictionary and business process catalog in the library);
——Abstract description of library output publicly provided by registration authorities.
This document is applicable to the electronic data exchange of business transactions and message sets compliant with ISO 20022 among financial industry participants, which is independent of any specific communication network. Network-dependent rules, such as message confirmation and message protection content, are not included in the scope of ISO 20022.
