Scope

This document defines the UML extension set. Essentially, this document defines how to use UML to create models that comply with the ISO 20022 meta-model, the definition of which can be found in ISO 20022-1. Accordingly, it defines the specific syntax based on the UML meta-model, and it does not exclude other specific syntaxes of the meta-model, such as text-based syntaxes.
The extension set defines how to represent each scope-level element of the meta-model (first level), business-level elements (second level), and message-level elements (third level) in UML, as well as meta-model elements that span across various levels.
