Scope

This standard specifies the basic methods and technical requirements for the regular inspection and evaluation of in-use steel welded gas cylinders (hereinafter referred to as "gas cylinders"). This standard applies to regular inspection and evaluation of steel welded gas cylinders with a nominal working pressure not exceeding 10 MPa (gauge pressure) and a nominal volume of 1 L to 1,000 L, which are used to contain compressed gases, low-pressure liquefied gases, or mixed gases and can be refilled repeatedly. This standard does not apply to gas cylinders filled with propellant gases, fire-extinguishing gas cylinders, and liquefied petroleum gas steel cylinders designed and manufactured in accordance with GB 5842.
