GB/T 21873-2008 Rubber seals—Joint rings for water supply, drainage and sewerage pipelines—Specification for materials
Basic Information
Scope
The identification codes of various sealing rings specified in this standard are determined according to the type, application, and requirements of the sealing rings (see Table 3). This standard also sets general requirements for finished sealing rings. Additional requirements for special applications shall be specified in the corresponding product standards. It should be noted that the working performance of pipeline interfaces is related to the performance of sealing ring materials, the geometric shape of sealing rings, and the structure of pipe interfaces. If applicable, this standard should be used in conjunction with product standards that specify the working performance of pipe interfaces. This standard applies to all pipeline interface sealing rings, including those for cast iron pipes, steel pipes, ceramic pipes, asbestos-cement pipes, cement pipes, reinforced cement pipes, plastic pipes, and fiberglass-reinforced plastic pipes. This standard applies to the elastomeric parts of composite or non-composite rubber sealing rings. For composite sealing rings with a material hardness range of 76 IRHD to 95 IRHD, tensile elongation, compression permanent deformation, and stress relaxation requirements are only used when rubber is directly involved in sealing or when long-term stability of the sealing ring is required. Interface sealing rings made with closed-cell materials as part of the sealing ring also fall within the scope of this standard.
