Scope

This document describes the methods of determining the manganese content in manganese-iron alloys, manganese-silicon alloys, manganese-iron nitrides, and metallic manganese using potentiometric titration, ammonium nitrate oxidation titration, and perchloric acid oxidation titration. This document is applicable to the determination of manganese content in manganese-iron alloys, manganese-silicon alloys, manganese-iron nitrides, and metallic manganese, with a measurement range (mass fraction): 50.00%~98.00%. Method I is not suitable for determining the manganese content in manganese-iron alloys, manganese-silicon alloys, manganese-iron nitrides, and metallic manganese with a chromium or vanadium content (mass fraction) greater than 0.4%.
