Scope

This document specifies the general requirements, inspection procedures, and result processing for the contact ultrasonic pulse reflection/penetration method of inspecting wind turbine blades.
This document is applicable to the contact ultrasonic pulse reflection/penetration method of inspecting internal defects in wind turbine blades made of glass fiber or carbon fiber reinforced composites. This document can be used for main beam pultrusion molding and infusion molding processes. For main beam prepreg molding and hand lay-up processes, ultrasonic testing can refer to this document, but the impact of acoustic characteristics needs to be considered.
