GB/T 37977.21-2023 Electrostatics—Part 2-1:Measurement methods—Ability of materials and products to dissipate static electric charge
Basic Information
Scope
This document describes the test method for measuring the electrostatic charge dissipation ability of insulating and electrostatic dissipation materials and products. This document includes an overview of the test method and detailed test procedures for specific products. There are two test methods for measuring charge decay time: one is the corona charging method, and the other is the charged metal plate method. Although these two different test methods may yield different measurement results, they each have their own most suitable application scope. The corona charging method is suitable for evaluating the ability of materials (such as textiles, packaging, etc.) to dissipate charges from their own surfaces; the charged metal plate method is suitable for evaluating the ability of materials and items (such as gloves, finger cots, handheld tools, etc.) to dissipate charges by being placed on or in contact with conductive bodies. The charged metal plate method may not be suitable for evaluating the ability of materials to dissipate charges from their own surfaces.
