Basic Information
Scope
This document provides resistance testing methods for anti-static clothing, which are suitable for evaluating clothing that uniformly conducts or dissipates static electricity, or clothing that uses components or parts that uniformly conduct or dissipate static electricity on the surface.
Note: The testing methods specified in this document may not be suitable for clothing with embedded conductive layers. The point-to-point resistance testing method is used to test the resistance between two cuffs on the clothing, between any two panels, or between any two or more electrical connection components, including the resistance of the clothing seams and cuffs (where applicable). It is allowed to use clips to hang the clothes up for sleeve-to-sleeve resistance testing. Point-to-point resistance, point-to-ground resistance, and system testing are used as methods to evaluate the performance of anti-static protective clothing that electrically connects to the wearer and provides a grounding path. Among them, system testing is used to detect the resistance of the wearer to the grounding point through the clothing. When conducting system testing on the wearer and the groundable anti-static clothing as a whole system, it is necessary to test the grounding wire of the clothing. Note: Appendix A provides some service types and recommended resistance values.
