Scope
This standard specifies the special requirements for passenger elevators and freight elevators permanently installed in buildings in accordance with GB 50011-2010 in the event of an earthquake.
This standard specifies the additional requirements of GB 7588-2003 and GB 21240-2007.
This standard applies to newly installed passenger elevators and freight elevators, and can also be used as a basis for improving the safety of existing passenger elevators and freight elevators.
This standard does not apply to elevators with an earthquake resistance grade of 0 as defined in Table A.1.
This standard does not address other risks caused by earthquakes, such as fire, floods, or explosions.
