Scope

This section specifies two test methods for determining the bulk density of aluminum powder, magnesium powder, and aluminum-magnesium alloy powders: the Scott capacity method and the funnel method. The Scott capacity method is suitable for determining the bulk density of granular powders that can be manually passed through a 2500μm sieve with a soft brush. The funnel method is suitable for determining the bulk density of flaky powders that contain trace amounts of lubricants and can be manually passed through a 500μm sieve with a soft brush.
