Scope

This standard specifies the general technical requirements for the use conditions, rated values, design and structure, testing, and equipment selection guidelines of high-voltage DC disconnect switches and grounding switches, in order to standardize the basic design and testing requirements of equipment and ensure the safe operation of the system.
This standard applies to disconnect switches and grounding switches designed and installed indoors and outdoors, and operated in high-voltage DC systems with voltages of ±800 kV and below. This standard also applies to the operating mechanisms and auxiliary devices of these disconnect switches and grounding switches.
