Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification and marking, order content, dimensions, shape, weight and allowable deviations, technical requirements, inspection methods, inspection rules, and packaging, marking, and quality certificates for galvanized or zinc alloy steel wires used for submarine cable armoring. This standard applies to galvanized or zinc alloy round carbon steel wires (hereinafter referred to as steel wires) used in marine engineering applications such as optical cables, electric cables, optical-electrical composite cables, and umbilical cable armoring.
