Scope
This standard specifies the evaluation and testing methods for the beam quality of high-energy lasers using the beta factor, BQ factor, BPF factor, and M matrix.
This standard is applicable to the evaluation and testing of the beam quality of high-energy lasers with a duration of not less than 0.25 s, a power of not less than 10 kW, or a pulse energy of not less than 500 J. The evaluation of other types of high-energy lasers can be carried out with reference to this standard.
