GB/T 15597.2-2010 Plastics—Poly(methyl methacrylate)(PMMA)moulding and extrusion materials—Part 2:Preparation of test specimens and determination of properties
Basic Information
Scope
1.1 This part of GB/T 15597 specifies the methods for molding samples and testing the performance of PMMA materials under specified conditions. All performance indicators listed in this part and those mentioned in GB/T 15597.1—2009 shall be measured using the methods specified in this part.
1.2 The specific values of performance indicators are not listed here. The performance indicators required for naming PMMA molding and extrusion materials are given in GB/T 15597.1—2009. Other performance indicators shall be measured using the relevant methods specified in this part.
1.3 The values measured using the methods specified in this part may not be the same as those obtained from samples with different sizes and/or preparation processes. This is because they may also be affected by pigments and other additives. The performance values of plastic parts depend on the molding compound, shape, test methods, and anisotropy of the material. The latter also depends on the injection molding conditions, such as temperature, pressure, or injection rate. Any subsequent processing, such as conditioning or annealing, should also be taken into account.
1.4 The thermal history and internal stress of the samples strongly affect the thermomechanical properties and resistance to environmental stress cracking. However, they have minimal impact on electrical properties; electrical properties primarily depend on the chemical composition of the molding compound.
