Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the surface tension of latex using a ring method. This standard is applicable to latex with a viscosity of less than 200 mPa·s. For this purpose, the latex should be diluted with water so that its total solids content (mass fraction) is 40%. If necessary, the total solids content should be further reduced to ensure that its viscosity is within the specified value. This method is also applicable to pre-vulcanized latex and compounded latex.
