GB/T 26255-2022 Steel-plastic-transition fittings for polyethylene(PE) piping systems for the supply of gaseous fuels
Basic Information
Scope
This document specifies the materials, product classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of steel-plastic transition fittings (hereinafter referred to as steel-plastic transitions) used for transition connections between PE pipes and metal pipes in gas-supply PE pipeline systems.
This document applies to PE pipeline systems and their components for gas transmission and distribution with an operating temperature of -20℃ to 40℃. The steel pipe components of the steel-plastic transitions can be connected to other metal pipes by means of threads, welding, or flanges, while the PE components can be connected to PE pipes by methods such as heat fusion butt welding and electric fusion welding.
Note: This document specifies the overall performance and requirements of steel-plastic transition fittings, with the aim of ensuring the pressure resistance, sealing performance, and load-bearing capacity of the steel-plastic joints in the steel-plastic transitions. Under tensile or compressive loads, the steel-plastic joints at the PE component end of the steel-plastic transitions should not come loose or fail before yielding (damaging). Purchasers are responsible for selecting the products specified in this document based on their specific application needs and in accordance with relevant regulations, standards, or norm requirements. Product manufacturers should make declarations in their technical documents based on factors such as the product's intended use or application field, the transmission medium, the maximum operating pressure (MOP), the component materials, the rigid elements used, the load-bearing capacity of the connection ends, corrosion resistance, and the operating temperature range for installation and use.
