Scope

This standard specifies the rated values, design, structure, and testing of high-voltage DC bypass switches.
This standard applies to bypass switches installed indoors or outdoors and operating in high-voltage DC transmission systems with a voltage level of ±800 kV or lower.
This standard also applies to the operating mechanisms and auxiliary equipment of bypass switches.
