Scope
This standard specifies the method for determining the absolute difference between the actual equivalent carbon number (ECN42) of glycerides in fats and the theoretical equivalent carbon number (ECN42 theoretical) of glycerides. This standard is applicable to olive oil and is used to detect whether various types of olive oil contain a small amount of seed oil (rich in linoleic acid). Note: ECN42HPLC is measured by high-performance liquid chromatography, and ECN42 theoretical is calculated from the fatty acid composition measured by gas chromatography.
