YY/T 1026-2019 Dentistry—Dental amalgam
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies the requirements, sampling, testing methods, packaging, labeling, and production instructions for silver alloys (including dental mercury) used in dental amalgam. This standard applies to bulk silver alloys, tablet silver alloys, and capsule-packaged silver alloys (e.g., pre-filled capsules). This standard applies to silver alloys or mercury supplied separately. For dental mercury, it is limited to mercury provided in the form of mercury packets or pre-filled capsules. The quality of mercury provided in these two forms is limited to being sufficient and only enough for one mixing. The amount of dental mercury in a capsule or mercury packet should be sufficient to produce a homogeneous plastic material, which can be used for a small or medium-sized restoration of a single tooth. This standard does not apply to mercury in a single original package with a quantity exceeding the above requirements (e.g., bulk dental mercury). Bulk dental mercury does not comply with this standard. This standard does not apply to metal materials used to fabricate dental restorations by causing a solidification reaction between metal alloy powders and liquid alloys at ambient temperature. Note: The purity of dental mercury should be no less than 99.99%, making it a high-industrial-purity metal element, not an alloy.
