Scope
This document specifies the acceptance test methods for verifying the performance of coordinate measuring machines used for dimensional measurement, to determine whether they meet the performance requirements specified by the manufacturer. This document also specifies the re-inspection test methods for users to regularly verify the performance of coordinate measuring machines.
This document is only applicable to coordinate measuring machines operating in discrete point detection mode and configured with any form of imaging detection system in Cartesian coordinate system.
This document is not explicitly applicable to:
— Coordinate measuring machines with non-Cartesian coordinate systems. However, with the consent of all parties, this document can be applied to coordinate measuring machines with non-Cartesian coordinate systems.
— Coordinate measuring machines using other types of optical probes. However, with the consent of all parties, this document can be applied to coordinate measuring machines using other optical probes.
— Coordinate measuring machines using contact detection systems (see ISO 103602 for contact detection systems).
This document specifies the acceptance test and re-inspection test methods for verifying the performance requirements of coordinate measuring machines specified by the manufacturer or user, as well as the rules and applications for verifying consistency.
