Scope

This part of GB/T 5169 introduces an overview of the published test methods for measuring the heat release of electrical and electronic products. This part describes the current technical status of the test methods and, where appropriate, includes special observations on their relevance and use.
In the upcoming IEC 60695-1-10 [4] and IEC 60695-1-11 [6], heat release data can be used as part of fire hazard assessment and fire safety engineering.
