GB/T 5169.23-2008 Fire hazard testing for electric and electronic products—Part 23:Test flames—500 W vertical flame test method for tubular polymeric materials
Basic Information
Scope
This part of GB/T 5169 specifies a small-scale laboratory procedure for determining the comparative combustion characteristics of tubular polymeric materials. A flame is applied to a test sample supported by a wire or mandrel and maintained in a vertical position. After removing the test flame, the time it takes for the flame to extinguish and the combustion characteristics are measured. This test method is suitable for comparing the combustion characteristics of tubular polymeric materials. It is not suitable for comparing the combustion characteristics of wire and cable products or cable management systems. This test method is suitable for comparing the relative performance of materials, which helps in material selection for quality control and quality assurance purposes.
