Scope
This standard specifies the hygiene requirements for food-related machinery for humans and artificially raised animals, analyzes the potential hazards that may arise when using such machinery, and sets forth requirements for design measures and usage information.
This standard does not address the hygiene risks caused by operators using the machinery.
This standard applies to food processing machinery and equipment, including complete sets of food processing machinery and equipment. Appendix B provides information on the complete sets of food processing machinery and equipment to which this standard applies.
The basic concepts covered in this standard apply to food processing machinery and equipment with similar risks.
This standard does not apply to machinery and equipment produced before the issuance and implementation of this standard.
