Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification and marking, design and structure, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of ship shaft-driven brushless doubly-fed AC generators (hereinafter referred to as generators) with a rated power of 30 kVA to 1,750 kVA. This standard applies to the design, manufacture, and inspection of ship shaft-driven brushless doubly-fed AC generators with a rated power of 30 kVA to 1,750 kVA and a rated frequency of 50 Hz. Ship shaft-driven brushless doubly-fed AC generators operating at 60 Hz can be used as a reference.
