Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, classification, marking, and packaging for marine synchronous generators (hereinafter referred to as generators) with a rated power of up to 3,125 kVA (50 Hz and 60 Hz) and their excitation devices. This standard applies to generators and their excitation devices driven by internal combustion engines, used in power stations for ships and mobile and fixed offshore installations. This standard can also be referenced for generators driven by turbines, shaft-driven generators, and generators with a rated power greater than 3,125 kVA.
