Scope

Note: See the explanations in Appendix AA. This part is a dedicated standard based on GB 9706.1 "Medical Electrical Equipment - Part 1: General Safety Requirements". As stated in GB 9706.1 1.3, the requirements of this part are more stringent than those of GB 9706.1. If a clause of GB 9706.1 is stated to be applicable in this part, it means that the clause is only applicable when the requirements put forward are related to the emergency and transfer use of respirators. This part shares common requirements with GB 9706.28 "Medical Electrical Equipment - Part 2: Safety Requirements for Respirators for Therapeutic Use". The scope of application and purpose given in Chapter 1 of GB 9706.1 - 2007 are applicable, but 1.1 should be modified as follows: This part specifies the requirements for portable respirators used in emergencies and during patient transport. Emergency and transfer portable respirators (hereinafter referred to as "respirators") are often installed in ambulances or other rescue vehicles, but are also often used outside vehicles and must be carried by operators or other personnel. These devices are often used by personnel with varying degrees of training outside hospitals or at home. This part is also applicable to respirators that are fixedly installed in ambulances or airplanes. The content of this part does not apply to artificial respirators (such as artificial resuscitators).
