Basic Information
Scope
The provisions of GB 3836 apply to users, and the content it contains relates to the inspection and maintenance of electrical equipment used in hazardous areas, where the danger may be caused by flammable gases, vapors, mists, dust, fibers, or flying fluff. This part does not include: -- Other basic installation and inspection requirements for electrical equipment; -- Verification of electrical equipment; -- Repair and restoration of explosion-proof equipment (see IEC 6007919). This part supplements the requirements of IEC 603646. In the presence of dust, fibers, or flying fluff, the cleanliness of the site during cleanup may affect the requirements for inspection and maintenance. This part applies to areas where explosive gas or dust mixtures with air, or flammable dust layers, pose a danger under atmospheric conditions. This part does not apply to: -- Underground coal mines; -- Areas where dangerous conditions arise from abnormal mixtures; -- Explosive dust of dynamite that does not require oxygen in the atmosphere to burn; or self-igniting substances.
