Scope
This document specifies the classification, requirements, inspection rules, and packaging, packaging marks, transportation, and storage of plastic shopping bags, and describes the corresponding test methods.
This document applies to non-degradable plastic shopping bags made from traditional plastic resins as the main raw material, and processed by bag-making processes such as heat sealing or adhesive bonding. It also applies to the production, inspection, and sales of non-degradable shopping bags made from a combination of plastic and other materials.
This document does not apply to plastic bags that are used solely for packaging and not for carrying purposes, such as plastic continuous-roll bags (also known as tear-off bags or puncture-resistant bags).
This document does not apply to starch-based plastic shopping bags or biodegradable plastic shopping bags.
