Scope

This standard specifies the relevant terms and definitions, test platforms and instrumentation requirements, pre-test preparations, test methods, and test reports related to the impact of SO2 and NOx impurities in the air on the performance of proton exchange membrane fuel cells. This standard applies to single cells of proton exchange membrane fuel cells (hereinafter referred to as "fuel cells") whose fuel is pure hydrogen (>99.9%) and the oxidant is air. The volume fraction of impurities in the air subject to the test methods specified in this standard shall not be less than 1 μL/L.
