GB 6675.2-2025 Safety of toys—Part 2:Mechanical and physical properties

Scope

This document specifies the requirements for acceptable structural features of toys, including shape, size, contours, clearances (such as rattle toys, small parts, sharp tips, sharp edges, hinges, etc.) and certain performance parameters of toys (maximum kinetic energy of non-elastic projectiles, minimum tilt angle of certain ride-on toys, etc.).
This document specifies the requirements and test methods for toys used by children from newborns to 14 years old. These requirements vary according to the different age groups of toys. The requirements for toys used by children of specific age groups are based on the characteristics of the hazards and the children's intellectual and physical abilities to cope with them.
Note 1: See Appendix A for guidance on toy age classification. For a more detailed age segmentation, refer to GB/T 28022.
This document also specifies the provision of appropriate warnings and/or usage instructions on certain toys or their packaging. Appendix B lists the basic content of warnings and usage instructions.
This document applies to all toys, that is, any products designed or clearly intended for children under 14 years old to play with. This document applies to toys that consumers first obtain, as well as toys that have undergone reasonable and foreseeable normal use and abuse tests, unless otherwise specifically stated.
This document does not cover all potential hazards of various types of toys or specific toys. For hazardous features inherent to toys and well-known, and inseparable from their functions, this document does not make any other requirements except for labeling functional hazards and the age range applicable to the toys.
