Scope
This standard specifies the methodological principles, reagents and materials, instrumentation, sample requirements, analytical procedures and methods, result reporting, and safety precautions for detecting metals and some non-metallic elements in samples using a quadrupole inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (Q-ICP-MS).
This standard is applicable to the qualitative, semi-quantitative, and quantitative analysis of elements contained in samples using a quadrupole inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer with liquid and gas sample introduction methods.
This standard is not applicable to solid direct sample introduction methods.
