GB/T 5169.30-2020 Fire hazard testing for electric and electronic products—Part 30:Heat release—Summary and relevance of test methods

Scope

This part of GB/T 5169 provides an overview of the test methods that have been published for measuring the heat release of electrical and electronic products or constituent materials during flammability tests. This part describes the latest technical status of the current test methods, and, where appropriate, includes special observations on their relevance and use.
The list of test methods is not exhaustive. Unless specifically stated, test methods not developed by IEC are not recognized by IEC.
As described in IEC 60695-1-10, IEC 60695-1-11[39], and IEC 60695-1-12[40], heat release data can be used as part of flammability hazard assessments and fire safety engineering.
This part is intended for use by product committees when preparing standards in accordance with the principles set out in IEC Guide 104 and ISO/IEC Guide 51.
One of the tasks of product committees is to use the standards in this series where applicable when preparing their own standards. Unless the relevant standards specifically mention or list exceptions, the requirements, test methods, or test conditions of this part apply.
