Scope

This document specifies the technical requirements, inspection rules, and labeling, packaging, transportation, and storage requirements for smoked fish, dried smoked fish, and smoked-flavored fish. It also describes the corresponding testing methods. This document applies to smoked fish, dried smoked fish, and smoked-flavored fish that can be directly consumed, further processed, or added to special or minced products that are only edible parts. This document is applicable to producers of smoked fish, dried smoked fish, and smoked-flavored fish who declare product conformity, or as a basis for signing trade contracts between producers and purchasers. This document does not apply to fish treated with filtered, cleaned, or smokeless carbon monoxide.
