Scope

This document specifies the requirements and test methods for household indoor and outdoor activity toys intended for children under the age of 14 to play on or inside them.
This document applies to swing sets, slides, seesaws, merry-go-rounds, swing toys, climbing frames, swing seats for toddlers, and other similar activity toys that are typically designed to support the weight of one or more children.
This document does not apply to the following products:
a) Fitness and sports equipment, unless they are connected to activity toys;
b) Equipment intended for use in schools, daycare centers, kindergartens, public playgrounds, restaurants, shopping malls, and similar public places;
c) Early childhood care products, such as (but not limited to) baby swings, playpens/fences, beds or furniture including picnic tables, cribs, and products designed for therapeutic purposes;
d) Swimming pools with a maximum depth measured between the water level plane and the deepest point in the pool exceeding 400 mm.
Inflatable activity toys are included in the scope of this document. However, electric blowers used to continuously inflate toys are household appliances that must meet the requirements of GB/T 4706.27 and are not included in the scope of this document.
