Scope
This part specifies the determination of sulfur content in manganese-silicon alloys, manganese iron, blast furnace manganese iron, nitrided manganese iron, metallic manganese, and electrolytic manganese by infrared absorption method and combustion neutralization titration method. This part is applicable to the determination of sulfur content in manganese-silicon alloys, manganese iron, blast furnace manganese iron, nitrided manganese iron, metallic manganese, and electrolytic manganese. Among them, the infrared absorption method is applicable to the determination of sulfur content in manganese-silicon alloys, manganese iron, blast furnace manganese iron, nitrided manganese iron, metallic manganese, and electrolytic manganese with a sulfur content of 0.005% to 0.120% (mass fraction); the combustion neutralization titration method is applicable to the determination of sulfur content in manganese-silicon alloys, manganese iron (including blast furnace manganese iron), and metallic manganese and electrolytic manganese with a sulfur content of 0.015% to 0.120% (mass fraction).
