Scope
This section specifies the determination of phosphorus content in manganese-iron, silicon-manganese alloys, nitrided manganese-iron, metallic manganese, and electrolytic manganese using the molybdenum blue spectrophotometry and the alkali titration method. This section is applicable to the determination of phosphorus content in manganese-iron, silicon-manganese alloys, nitrided manganese-iron, and metallic manganese. The determination range (mass fraction) is 0.0030% to 0.650%. Method I: Molybdenum blue spectrophotometry, applicable to the determination of silicon content in manganese-iron, silicon-manganese alloys, nitrided manganese-iron, and metallic manganese. The determination range (mass fraction) is 0.0030% to 0.450%. Method II: Alkali titration method, applicable to the determination of manganese-iron alloys. The determination range (mass fraction) is 0.080% to 0.650%.
