Scope
This part specifies the determination of silicon content in manganese-iron, manganese-silicon alloys, nitrided manganese-iron, metallic manganese, and electrolytic manganese using the molybdenum blue photometry method, the potassium fluorosilicate titration method, and the perchloric acid gravimetric method. This part is applicable to the determination of silicon content in manganese-iron, manganese-silicon alloys, nitrided manganese-iron, metallic manganese, and electrolytic manganese. The determination range (mass fraction) is 0.001% to 30.00%. Method 1: Molybdenum blue photometry method, applicable to the determination of silicon content in metallic manganese and electrolytic manganese. The determination range (mass fraction) is 0.001% to 0.60%. Method 2: Potassium fluorosilicate titration method, applicable to the determination of silicon content in manganese-silicon alloys. The determination range (mass fraction) is 12.00% to 30.00%. Method 3: Perchloric acid gravimetric method, applicable to the determination of silicon content in manganese-iron, manganese-silicon alloys, nitrided manganese-iron, metallic manganese, and electrolytic manganese. The determination range (mass fraction) is 0.50% to 30.00%.
