Scope
This standard specifies the classification, order content, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, and quality assurance certificates for low-carbon steel wires (hereinafter referred to as steel wires) with hot-dip galvanized or hot-dip galvanized with 5% aluminum mixed rare earth alloy coatings used in armored cables. This standard applies to armored cables used for communication, automatic control, or power transmission, which are designed to prevent damage to submarine and underground cables, and to steel wires with hot-dip galvanized coatings used to enhance the corrosion resistance of the coatings.
