This document specifies the requirements and methods for conducting functional safety audits and assessments of safety-related electrical/electronic (E/E) systems at the conceptual stage and system level, in order to check and determine the compliance of the development process and work results with functional safety requirements.
This document applies to safety-related systems that include one or more electrical/electronic (E/E) systems installed in mass-produced road vehicles, excluding mopeds.
This document does not apply to specific electrical/electronic (E/E) systems in special-purpose vehicles, such as those designed for disabled drivers.
