LY/T 3237-2020 Forestry machinery—Internal combustion engine powered semi-trailed branch chippers
Basic Information
Scope
This document specifies the terms and definitions, model compilation and series type specification, basic parameters, technical requirements and test methods, marking, user's manual, packaging, transportation and storage of semi-trailer branch chippers powered by internal combustion engines (hereinafter referred to as "chippers").
This document is applicable to those used in forest harvesting, management, and maintenance, as well as in municipal and landscaping sites. They are powered by reciprocating piston internal combustion engines and operate when fixed in place. They load wood and bamboo branches containing trunks through a feed chute with a horizontal or nearly horizontal bottom plate, and have an automatic feeding function. The feed opening size at a safe distance from the crushing device or independent feeding device is greater than 400 mm × 400 mm, and they are mounted on a semi-trailer chassis.
This document does not apply to the relevant requirements of national road safety regulations for chippers during transportation.
This document does not apply to chippers with one or more of the following functional or structural characteristics:
a) The feed chute is equipped with an extended workbench or an internal conveyor chain that extends beyond the outer edge of the feed chute bottom plate;
b) It is equipped with a belt-driven feeding device;
c) It is equipped with a mechanical loading device;
d) It is equipped with a mechanical discharge device.
