Scope

This standard applies to short primary linear induction motors, where the primary winding is installed on the vehicle body and the secondary winding is installed on the track and only coupled with the primary magnetic field. This standard provides a basis for determining the performance of linear induction motors through testing and evaluating their adaptability to a specified operating mode, as well as comparing them with other linear induction motors. The linear induction motors covered by this standard are powered by converters. Note: At the time of drafting this standard, only the combination of short primary linear induction motors and voltage source converters was used in traction systems, but this standard is also applicable to other combinations that may be used in the future.
