Scope

This document describes the method of measuring the laser performance of neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) laser rods in a laser cavity at a wavelength of 1064 nm.
This document is applicable to the measurement of the laser threshold, slope efficiency, dynamic extinction ratio, and laser damage threshold of neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) laser rods (which emit a solid-state laser working substance at a wavelength of 1064 nm). The laser performance measurement of other similar materials or similar shapes, such as neodymium-cerium co-doped yttrium aluminum garnet, neodymium-doped glass, and ceramics, or laser rods with other working wavelengths, can also be referenced for use.
