Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, structural types, models, materials, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, and storage and transportation for directly buried gate valves used in urban water supply and drainage (hereinafter referred to as gate valves).
This standard applies to gate valves with nominal sizes of DN50 to DN900, nominal pressures of PN10 to PN25, and a medium temperature of no more than 80 °C, connected by flanges or socket-and-spigot fittings; made of ductile iron, with a shell directly buried underground and a burial depth of no more than 5 m, and used in urban water supply and drainage.
