Scope

This document specifies the measurement procedures and additional requirements for the current-voltage characteristics of multi-junction photovoltaic devices under natural sunlight or simulated sunlight.
This document is applicable to individual photovoltaic cells, sub-strings composed of multiple cells, or complete photovoltaic modules. This document is primarily applicable to non-concentrator photovoltaic devices, but some of its content may also be applicable to concentrator photovoltaic devices. For photovoltaic devices designed for use under concentrator conditions, this document may still be applicable if measurements are conducted using direct sunlight without concentrator optical elements and spectral mismatch corrections are made based on standard direct irradiance distributions.
