本文件规定了在自然阳光或模拟阳光下测量光伏器件的电流-电压特性（I-V曲线）的程序，该程序适用于单个光伏电池、光伏电池子串或光伏组件。
本文件适用于地面用非聚光型单结单面光伏器件，其光谱辐照度通常为（但不限于）IEC 60904-3中定义的AM1.5标准光谱总辐照度。如果应用场合采用的是直射阳光，并且光谱辐照度参考依据变更为IEC 60904-3中的AM1.5d标准光谱直射辐照度，那么本文件也可适用于聚光型光伏器件。
