Scope
This standard specifies the basic requirements for low-voltage marine electrical equipment (hereinafter referred to as "equipment"), including terms and definitions, symbols and codes, characteristics, normal use, installation and transportation conditions, structural and performance requirements, and testing requirements. This standard applies to control and distribution electrical equipment (hereinafter referred to as "equipment") used on ships and mobile or fixed offshore installations with a voltage of 1,000 V AC or 1,500 V DC or lower.
