Scope

This part of GB/T 34560 specifies the terms and definitions, classification and grade designation methods, order content, dimensions, shapes, weights, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, and quality certificates for general-purpose structural steel. This part is applicable to hot-rolled steel plates (strips), wide flats, sections, and steel bars (hereinafter referred to as "steel") used in general welding, bolting, and riveting engineering structures. The chemical composition specified in this part is also applicable to steel ingots, continuous casting billets, steel slabs, and their products.
